November 1998

Export-Import (Ex-Im) Bank Ex-Im Bank's new exposure fee system went into effect on October 1, 1998. This fee system is consistent with the agreement on export credit premium rates negotiated among the OECD countries. The new exposure fee includes five variables: country risk level, percent of cover, products offered, length of drawdown period, and length of repayment period. The bank's web site (http://www.exim.gov) provides an Exposure Fee Calculator to assist customers in determining proposed exposure fees under the new system. The bank also provides free diskettes containing the calculator, as well as a seminar on the new system. For more information, call Ex-Im Bank at 1-800-565-3946.
