    Advanced Digital GTE Airfone Service

    The Federal Technology Service offers a GTE Federal Discount Program for Advanced Digital Airfone Service through GTE Airfone Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of GTE Corp. Airfone service is available effective February 1, 1998, on US registered aircraft routes over the United States and Canada by the following participating airlines:

    • Continental Airlines
    • Delta
    • Delta Shuttle
    • Air Wisconsin
    • Midwest
    • Midwest Express
  • Reno Air Shuttle by United
  • TWA
  • United
  • US Airways
  • US Airways Shuttle

    • Features Provided:

    • Air to ground calling
    • Ground to air calling
    • Receive and Send Data/Fax (2.4 kbps)
    Benefits:
    Anything that people can do in their office on the ground, they can now do on a plane. The digital system offers government passengers high quality, reliable connections at the lowest rates available to any corporate user.

    Payment Method:

    Effective November 30, 1998 GTE Airfone discounts will no longer be available with the American Express Government Travel card. The new Travel Card contracts awarded to Master Card and Visa by the Federal Supply Service will replace the American Express Travel card.

    Federal travelers will automatically be enrolled for the InFlight Service discounts (GTE Airfone 25%) with the new Government issued travel cards. The transition from the American Express Travel card to the new Visa and Master Card will be transparent to the federal traveler.

    Pricing:

    Discounts are adjusted quarterly. Customers of the Federal Discount Program are encouraged to contact either GTE Airfone Service or the GSA Program Office for the current discount rate.
