National Rural Water Association

The National Rural Water Association’s Wellhead Protection Program Exit EPA Disclaimer began March 12, 1991. It is a cooperative effort between NRWA and the Environmental Protection Agency to assist small water systems and rural communities in the design and implementation of ground water protection plans.

This manual includes descriptions of new SDWA programs, highlighting SWAP, as well as source protection case studies from across the country, information on pollutants and their sources, funding and implementation assistance information, and a chapter on source protection planning and implementation.

Rural Community Action Program

The RCAP network includes field-based staff and delegate agencies working at the community level in all 50 states and Puerto Rico, six regional offices with multistate service areas and a national office located in Leesburg, Virginia, near Washington, D.C.
