Ground Water and Drinking Water Publications - A list of resources including source water protection, technical assistance documents, resources for teachers, and other related subjects, plus ordering information.

This 1997 document, State Source Water Assessment and Protection Programs Guidance describes the elements of an EPA-approved state Source Water Assessment Program (SWAP) as well as EPA's recommendations for what may be included in a state Source Water Protection (SWP) Program. The document also provides an overview of how source water assessment and protection integrates with other SDWA programs and efforts and how other EPA and federal programs can assist states in developing and implementing assessment and protection programs, and vice versa.

Basic information about drinking water contamination, sources and protection.

E-mail a question to the Safe Drinking Water Hotline, or call 1-800-426-4791. The Safe Drinking Water Hotline provides information on EPA's drinking water and source water protection programs, standards and monitoring requirements, contaminant-specific health advisories and fact sheets, and can take orders for EPA publications. Referrals to local contacts (such as certified laboratories to test drinking water) and other sources of information are also available.

Introduction to EPA’s Drinking Water Source Protection Programs One line training through EPA’s Drinking Water Academy. Training modules can be viewed on-line or downloaded for later review. With few exceptions (e.g., copyrighted graphics we have reproduced only with permission) DWA modules are in the public domain and may be downloaded, reproduced, and modified for your own use.
