What's this all about?

Well, it's about "electronic government." What does that mean? Simple: we want to make government services available to citizens, via the Internet. And since our partners - nonprofits, state and local governments, housing agencies, and others - actually provide many of the services HUD funds, we want to help you develop web sites that deliver those services online.

We've heard from many of you that you don't really know what to do with your web sites and, in some cases, that you can't afford to have a web site. So that's what these Web Clinics are for - to share what we've learned about building a web site, at HUD; to tell you how you can produce a web site on a shoestring; and to help you create web sites that deliver services to citizens.

Here's what participants at our first Web Clinics had to say:

  • "You pulled the curtain away from Oz and made the web and website design much easier." - Maricopa County Housing Department
  • "This information is so powerful!" - Chandler Village Apartments
  • "Please, please, please - these beginning website lessons are going to be a huge hit; start planning now for the follow-up intermediate and advanced courses." - City of Richmond, CA
  • "A nuts and bolts cookbook approach to designing a website - this was great!" - Memphis Family Shelter
