CDBG WEEK - APRIL 24-30, 2000 - Activities
A Proclamation was read by the Mayor at the City Council Meeting
proclaiming the week of April 24-April 30 as National Community Development
Week in the City of Jackson. Five subrecipients spoke regarding the importance
of CDBG funds and how these funds have assisted their agencies.
A Community Planning Development Expo will be held on April
27, 2000, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Jackson Medical Mall. The
EXPO will be comprised of non-profit organizations that perform public services
that will include eligible housing activities, literacy programs, substance
abuse treatment, counseling and job training services. Approximately 32
agencies have been invited to participate in this event.
