Reminders and Hints When Downloading Files
- There are three formats in which files have been saved for downloading: TXT, PDF and EXE.
- When given a choice between formats, please read the following descriptions to determine which format best suits your needs: The TXT (ASCII Text) files have no formatting or graphics and offer a universally-accepted format for viewing and printing.
- The PDF (Portable Document Format) files duplicate the look and format, including all graphics, of published (printed) documents. In order to view and print PDF files, you must use a PDF "reader." Once you have a PDF reader, you can view and print PDF files.
Click here to download a PDF reader.
- The EXE (self-extracting executable) files have been compressed to reduce downloading time (in some cases two or more files have been compressed together into one EXE file). Once you have downloaded an EXE file into a specified directory, you must "run" the EXE file. This done by either viewing the directory where you saved the file, highlighting the file and pressing enter, or by typing the path (drive, directory, file name) at the DOS prompt and pressing enter. By "running" the EXE file, it will inflate the file, or files, which now can be viewed or printed.
- Please note the size of the files. Some of the files may be too large to fit on a single floppy disk.
