The Lender Approval and Recertification Division helps new lenders get started with HUD-FHA Insured Mortgage Products and helps old lenders recertify to maintain their approved status.

Getting Started:

Your first step is to get an application package. Application packages will no longer be maintained at HUD Headquarters. These packages (containing forms, pertinent mortgagee letters and handbooks) may now be ordered through the Office of Administrative and Management Services.

     Telephone: 1-800-767-7468    FAX: 1-202-708-2313

Ask for the Title I Application Package: Stock Number 4112, Or the Title II Application Package: Stock Number 4113.

Forms and Handbooks:

You can obtain all forms and handbooks from HUD Clips. HUDClips is HUD's Client Information and Policy System. It is a library of Handbooks, Forms, Mortgagee Letters and Notices maintained by HUD for the mortgage industry. Be sure to get the Forms Index. You can also down load the Order Form for all Handbooks and Directives. To read and print all HUD forms you may need to Download a "PDF" Reader

The relevant handbooks to browse HUDClips for are: Lender Approval Handbooks, 4700.2 and 4060.1. The relevant forms to download are: HUD Form 11701 and 92001.

Visit the FHA mortgagee starters kit for a full bibliography of handbooks and mortgagee letters.
