This is the 30th Anniversary of Earth Day, a day that underscores our commitment to a healthier environment for families and communities all across America. Today, it is especially important to renew that commitment on behalf of the many places that desperately need both environmental cleanup and economic turnaround. Working in partnership with local governments, groups and businesses, we can help all of America - including our neglected urban neighborhoods - have a clean environment, a strong economic base, and a chance to enjoy all of the opportunities that our great nation has to offer.

- Secretary Andrew Cuomo
