WHAT'S NEW IN GRANTS MANAGEMENT?
In July 2000, HUD will be implementing
Phase 1 of the Departmental Grants Management System (DGMS). This system
will incorporate all phases of the grant life cycle from application submission
through closeout for formula and discretionary grants.
In order to ensure that DGMS meets the needs of HUD and our grantees, the
system is being developed with the assistance of eighteen (18) pilot partners. From July 2000 to December 2001, HUD will
be conducting training and conversion of grantees. A complete production
schedule will be released in May 2000, and will be available from this web
site.
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT!
Due to scheduling conflicts the DGMS
Status Meeting for Public Interest Groups, scheduled for April 28th, has
been postponed. We will provide an updated DGMS project schedule within
the next week.
DGMS COORDINATION
The release of DGMS into production
on June 30, 2000 is contingent upon the success of the scheduled pilot releases
and system testing reviews that are currently underway. Also, HUD is working
in conjunction with the Interagency on Electronic Grants Committee and the
Office of Management and Budget as they prepare plans to comply with Public Law 106-107.
