NCTAMSLANT Sailors
selected for base SOQ, JSOQ

GUANTANAMO BAY - ET2(SW) Dawn M. Ainsworth was recently selected as the Naval Base and Naval Computer and Telecommunications Master Station Atlantic (NCTAMSLANT) Detachment Sailor of the Quarter for the second quarter.

Ainsworth serves as the career counselor, assistant admin supervisor and facilities manager for the detachment.

Ainsworth spearheaded the Petty Officer Indoctrination Class for 12 Naval Station, Hospital and NCTMAMSLANT petty officer selectees.

Her collateral duties include public affairs petty officer, MWR president, Volunteer Income Tax Assistant, Command Training Team member and maintenance training petty officer for the detachment.

GUANTANAMO BAY - IT3 Crystal D. Pretzman was recently selected as the Naval Base and Naval Computer and Telecommunications Master Station Atlantic (NCTAMSLANT) Detachment Junior Sailor of the Quarter for the second quarter.

Pretzman serves as NCTAMSLANT Detachment Communications Security Material System (CMS) Clerk.

She was instrumental in completing one fixed cycle CMS inventory and one corrective inventory consisting of over 400 line items in less than 30 days, an operation that normally takes twice as long.

Pretzman also significantly contributed to the packaging and transfer of 478 pounds of controlled cryptographic items valued at more than $210,000.


GTMO Youth Center
makes time capsule

Children at the GTMO Youth Center recently made a time capsule.
They decorated and put notes into the time capsule describing what
they think they’ll be like in ten years. They also put their pictures into
the time capsule and decorated their notes with glitter and shapes
with their names on them.
