"Tips for Reporting Technical Difficulties"

When reporting technical difficulties, it is very helpful to provide as much detail as possible about the problem you are experiencing. Examples of the types of information you can include to expedite the resolution of your problem include:

• the exact text of any error messages you may have received
• the URL (address) of the page on which the error occurrred
• what type of computer you are using (Windows, Windows 95, Windows NT, Macintosh, DOS, etc.)
• what software or web browser you are using as well as the version number (e.g. Netscape Navigator version 2.2)
• any other information that may be specific to your Internet access, such as if you are using a corporate LAN that may have firewall restrictions

If you are unsure of how to best report your problem, just include as much information as you are able to and technical staff will work with you on solving the problem.
