What's New?
New Information from the Office of Transition Initiatives
The Office of Transition Initiatives' web site now includes field reports
from its active country programs. Site visitors will benefit from information on USAID's activities in places
like Kosovo, Indonesia, East Timor and Colombia. Field reports are written
and posted on either a bi-weekly or monthly basis. They include country
situation information, program highlights, coordination with other donors,
grants activity, and next steps.
New USAID Democracy & Governance Site
As the primary channel for U.S. foreign assistance in the developing world,
USAID has taken a leading role in promoting and
consolidating democracy worldwide. Expanding democracy improves individual
opportunity for prosperity and improved well-being, thus contributing to the
more traditional goals of the Agency.

gender issues in development, this

strategy, describes USAID activities that address gender issues, identifies
the resources of USAID's Office of Women and Development, and offers full
text versions of Agency documents and publications.
