Officials of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission will meet with officials from Pacific Gas & Electric Co., on July 2 in Arlington, Texas, to discuss problem identification and resolution and human performance issues at the Diablo Canyon nuclear plant. PG&E operates the nuclear power plant, located in San Luis Obispo, California.

The meeting, which is open to public observation, will be held at 8 a.m. at the office of NRC Region IV, 611 Ryan Plaza Drive, Suite 400. The public is invited to observe the meeting and NRC staff will be available for comments and questions from the public before the meeting adjourns.

During its most recent safety assessment of Diablo Canyon, NRC identified the need for improvement in PG&E’s problem identification and resolution program and in human performance issues. These issues were discussed during the June 10 public meeting in San Luis Obispo.
