| The Nuclear Regulatory Commission
(NRC) is announcing the availability of an application for a 20-year renewal
of the operating licenses for Unit 2 at the Arkansas Nuclear One (ANO) nuclear
power plant. Entergy Nuclear submitted the application on Oct. 15.
The ANO plant is located near Russellville, Arkansas, and the current operating
license for Unit 2 expires July 17, 2018.
The application is available through the NRC's Agencywide Documents Access
and Management System (ADAMS) on the agency’s Web site at this address:

by entering accession number ML032890483. Help in using ADAMS is available

e-mail.
In addition, copies of the ANO Unit 2 license renewal application are available
at the Arkansas Technical University’s library, 305 West Q St., Russellville,
Arkansas.
The NRC staff is currently conducting an initial review of the application
to determine whether it contains enough information for the required formal
review. If the application has sufficient information, the NRC will formally
"docket," or file, the application, as well as announce an opportunity
to request a hearing.
