NEW NRC RESIDENT
INSPECTOR ASSIGNED |
||
| Nuclear Regulatory Commission officials
in King of Prussia, Pa., have selected Javier M. Brand as the new NRC resident
inspector at the Three Mile Island nuclear power plant in Middletown, Pa. He
joins Senior Resident Inspector David Kern at the site, which is operated by
AmerGen Energy Co.
Mr. Brand began his NRC career in 1996 in the Region I office as a reactor engineer. He was then assigned as the resident inspector at Seabrook Station in Seabrook, N.H., for more than six years. Prior to joining the agency, Mr. Brand worked at the Turkey Point nuclear power plant in Florida. He also worked for Stone and Webster Engineering Corporation on assignment to the Comanche Peak nuclear plant in Texas. Mr. Brand earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Pratt Institute of Engineering in New York. The Three Mile Island resident inspectors can be reached at 717/948-1165. Each U.S. commercial nuclear plant has at least two NRC resident inspectors. They serve as the agency's eyes and ears at the facility, conducting inspections, monitoring major work projects and interacting with plant workers and the public. |
