NRC ASSIGNS NEW
RESIDENT INSPECTOR |
||
| Nuclear Regulatory Commission officials
have selected Travis Rhoades as the Resident Inspector at the Wolf Creek Generating
Station near Burlington, Kansas. Mr. Rhoades joins Senior Resident Inspector
Frank Brush at the single unit site.
Mr. Rhoades joined the NRC in January 2003, as a Reactor Inspector in the Division of Reactor Safety at the Region I office in King Of Prussia, Pennsylvania. Prior to his NRC service, Mr. Rhoades worked as a production supervisor at the Abbott Laboratories facility in McPherson, Kansas, and as a Naval Officer aboard the USS OHIO, a nuclear-powered submarine. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in physics from Baker University in Baldwin City, Kansas, and is pursuing a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Kansas State University. Mr. Rhoades and his wife, Cara, and their two children will reside in Olathe, Kansas. Every commercial nuclear power plant in the U.S. has at least two NRC resident inspectors. They serve as the agency’s eyes and ears at the facility, conducting regular inspections, monitoring significant work activities and interacting with plant workers and the public. The Wolf Creek resident inspectors can be reached at 620/364-8653. |
