NRC Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards to Meet in Rockville, Maryland, on December 15-16

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission's Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards (ACRS) has scheduled a meeting of its subcommittee on reliability and probabilistic risk assessment on December 15-16 in Rockville, Maryland.

The meeting, which is open to the public and will start at 8:30 a.m. each day, will be held in Conference Room T-2B1 of the agency's Two White Flint North Building at 11545 Rockville Pike, Rockville, Maryland.

The subcommittee will review the staff's programs for risk-based analysis of reactor operating experience. The subcommittee also will review staff efforts regarding risk-informed technical specifications and associated industry initiatives proposed by the Risk-Informed Technical Specification Task Force.

Although meetings of the ACRS are open, they are not part of the agency's normal hearing process. The ACRS, an advisory committee group to the Commission, conducts independent, highly technical reviews of safety considerations related to nuclear facilities.

While anyone may attend, the committee will consider only oral or written statements arranged in advance and limited to specific matters described in a Notice of Meeting published in an upcoming edition of the Federal Register. ACRS meeting agendas, transcripts, and letter

reports are available on the internet, at http://www.nrc.gov/ACRSACNW

Those seeking information on opportunities to present oral statements or on schedule changes should contact Mike Markley at 301 415-6885.
