No. 99-242 November 9, 1999 NRC Schedules Public Workshop to Discuss Programs to Manage Equipment Aging The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has scheduled a public workshop on December 6 in Rockville, Maryland, to gather comments from stakeholders on programs for managing the effects of aging on nuclear power plants for license renewal. The agency is developing a "Generic Aging Lessons Learned" report that will document the basis for determining when existing aging management programs are adequate and when they should be modified or augmented for license renewal. The workshop will be held in the auditorium of the agency's Two White Flint North Building, at 11545 Rockville Pike, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. It will provide participants with the opportunity to obtain information, ask questions, make comments and explain how to submit written suggestions for NRC consideration. For more information on the workshop, interested persons can contact the agency's Raj Anand at 301-415-1146, access the agency's web site at http://www.nrc.gov/NRC/COMMISSION/SECYS/index.html , or call the Public Document Room at 202-634-3273. # # # # # | |||||||
