NRC to Discuss Performance at Beaver Valley Nuclear Power Plant

Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff will meet with representatives of the Beaver Valley nuclear power plant on Wednesday, December 15, to discuss the results of the agency's latest Plant Performance Review for the facility. The plant, which is located in Shippingport, Pa., is now operated by First Energy Nuclear Operating Company.

Issuance of the reviews was announced in NRC news release I-99-87 on October 13. The Plant Performance Review letter can be found on the agency's web site at: http://www.nrc.gov/OPA/ppr/334ppr2.htm .

The meeting, which will be open to the public for observation, will be held at 1:00 p.m., in the Emergency Response Facility, Conference Room A, at the Beaver Valley Power Station in Shippingport. At its conclusion, NRC staff will be available to answer questions from interested observers and to meet with state and local officials.
