I-99-94 November 12, 1999 NRC Names New Senior Resident Inspector at Hope Creek Nuclear Plant Nuclear Regulatory Commission officials in King of Prussia, Pa., have selected Joseph G. Schoppy, Jr., as the new senior resident inspector at Hope Creek Station in Hancocks Bridge, N.J. He succeeds Scott Morris, who became the senior resident inspector at Salem Nuclear Generating Station in April. After joining the NRC in 1991 as a reactor engineer, Mr. Schoppy was assigned to Salem nuclear power plant in Hancocks Bridge as a resident inspector in March 1993. Most recently, he worked as the senior resident inspector at the Oyster Creek nuclear plant in Lacey Township, N.J. Prior to working for the agency, he worked as an instructor at the U.S. Naval Academy and as a junior officer aboard the USS Henry L. Stimson. Mr. Schoppy received a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the Naval Academy and a master's degree in nuclear engineering from the University of Virginia.
