NRC Assigns New Senior Resident Inspector at Ginna Nuclear Plant

Nuclear Regulatory Commission officials in King of Prussia, Pa., have selected Ho K. Nieh, Jr., as the new senior resident inspector at the Robert E. Ginna Nuclear Plant near Rochester, N.Y.

He succeeds Peter Drysdale, who was reassigned as the senior resident inspector at Indian Point 3, in Buchanan, N.Y.

Most recently, Mr. Nieh was a resident inspector at Salem Nuclear Generating Station in Hancock's Bridge, New Jersey. He joined the NRC in April 1997 as a reactor engineer in the Region I office. Prior to joining the agency, he worked at the Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory (KAPL) in Ballston Spa, NY. He completed the U.S. Navy's nuclear training program and was a nuclear plant engineer at a naval nuclear prototype plant for KAPL.

Mr. Nieh is a graduate of the Maritime College of the State University of New York, where he earned a Bachelor's of Engineering degree (with honors) in marine engineering.

Mr. Nieh will be joined at Ginna by Christopher Welch. The NRC resident inspectors at Ginna can be reached at 315/524-6935.
