NOTE TO EDITORS:

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission's Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards (ACRS) has scheduled a meeting of its subcommittee on planning and procedures on January 27 - 29 in Bethesda, Maryland.

The subcommittee will meet from 8:30 a.m. until the conclusion of business on January 27 and 28 and from 8:30 a.m. until noon on January 29. The meetings will be held in the Executive Board Room, One Bethesda Metro Center.

The subcommittee will discuss proposed ACRS activities and related matters, including emerging technical issues and an ACRS report to the Commission on the NRC safety research program.

Other aspects of the meeting, including an opportunity for public comment, will be described in a forthcoming edition of the Federal Register.
