EXECUTIVES ASSOCIATION AWARD
Frank J. Miraglia, NRC's Deputy Director of the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation (NRR), was named a finalist in the Senior Executives Association Professional Development League's 1998 Executive Excellence Award for Distinguished Executive Service.
He is one of 21 Federal career executives - all members of the government's Senior Executive Service - recognized for outstanding performance and dedication.
As NRR deputy director for the past eight years, Mr. Miraglia has been instrumental in overseeing the largest program office at the NRC, having more than 600 employees. He has helped guide the agency's reactor safety program for over 100 operating nuclear plants, including advanced reactor design certification and the reactor license renewal and inspection program.
Mr. Miraglia began his 31-year Federal career with the former Atomic Energy Commission. He is a graduate of the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering and completed requirements for a Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering.
Mr. Miraglia has been honored with Presidential Meritorious Rank Awards in 1987 and 1992, and the Presidential Distinguished Rank Award in 1996.
