A Day in the Forest A Day in the Forest
Secretary Glickman plants a tree at the Angeles National Forest during A Day in the Forest event, which was held on Sunday January 23, 2000. Glickman joined the Jewish National Fund in the celebration of Tu B’Shevat, the Jewish New Year of Trees. Over three hundred California live oaks trees were planted in a portion of the Angeles National Forest that was damaged by fire in 1998. Behind Glickman from left to right are: Russell Robinson, Jewish National Fund; Mary Nichols, California Secretary of Natural Resources, Carol Pope, Sierra Club and a volunteer with the Tree People.
