Mann Library: A Tour of the New Building

Welcome to a virtual tour of the not-so-virtual parts of our new building--the concrete, drywall, and glass that make up the glorious expansion of Mann Library.

After over a decade of planning, the Mann Library addition is under construction and slated for completion in early 2000. The existing art deco building, designed in 1930 but not completed until 1952, is a beautiful structure but its facilities are outmoded for a modern research library. The addition, rising on the north and east sides of the library, nearly doubles the library's size to more than 162,000 square feet. It will provide air conditioning, ubiquitous high-speed networking, and other amenities.

So come along with us now as we look at the inside and outside of this new space that has been anticipated for so long.
