This directory of directories of experts in agriculture-related disciplines range from modest, narrow-focused efforts to technologically sophisticated implementations all the way to multidisciplinary, special-access projects. The headings, based on a broad cut of the semi-hierarchical AGRICOLA Subject Category Codes, are organized alphabetically. The code associated with each heading links to its description. Any comments that you feel would improve this product may be sent to agnic@agnic.org. We also welcome recommendations on other sites that should be included in this directory.

Agricultural Economics (General) (E100)

American Economic Association Directory of Members - Two databases are available: One contains biographical data and current fields of interest based on a 1977 survey. The second, the current membership list, includes mailing addresses, phone numbers, Fax numbers, and E-mail addresses but does not include fields of interest or biographical data.
ASFMRA Searchable Membership Directory (American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers) - Directory can be downloaded or searched online for information concerning individual members, members in a particular state or members with specific qualifications.
ERS Subject Area Specialists (U.S. Dept. of Agriculture, Economic Research Service) - A extensive list of ERS employees expert in a wide variety of agricultural economic specialties provides: Name; E-mail address; and Telephone number. Some subject areas are subject based while others are geographically based.
IATRC Membership (International Agricultural Trade Research Consortium) - International Agricultural Trade Research Consortium (IATRC) members listing. The IATRC is a unique, informal, international consortium of people interested in agricultural trade research. Begun by six United States agricultural economists, the organization now has more than 160 members in 15 countries.

Membership List of the Society for Engineering in Agriculture (SEAg) - SEAg is a technical society of the Institution of Engineers, Australia. Membership is open to all people interested in the application of engineering to agriculture and related industries. This includes scientists, farmers, surveyors, technical officers, engineers, manufacturers, distributors, processors.

Ask the Expert (Oregon Department of Agriculture) - Listing of Oregon Department of agriculture subject area experts. Includes online form for submission of questions by Email with menu selection from more than a dozen subject areas with automatic entry of appropriate Email address.
Directory of Agricultural Experts (AgriNet Bangladesh)
Expertise Guide (NMSU College of Agriculture and Home Economics) - Directory of New Mexico State University experts in agriculture searchable by subject, in alphabetical order, by category, or Departmental listing.
Find the Expert at the Agricultural Research Service - Permits the user to find USDA, ARS experts in a wide range of agricultural specialties. Access is provided by keyword, broad subject areas, and alphabetical listings by areas of research.
ISU Extension to Agricultural and Natural Resources Field Specialists (Iowa State University) - Directory of Extension Field Specialists with separate sections for Agricultural Engineering, Crops, Horticulture, Farm Management, Livestock/Beef, Dairy/Beef and Forage, Beef Forage-Beef Livestock, Livestock/Swine and Swine.
MTT's Experts - Contains brief descriptions of Agricultural Research Centre of Finland research scientists and other experts using keywords and their contact information.
Purdue Experts - A broad expert directory includes Purdue faculty with expertise in agriculture and related disciplines. Users may view indexes grouped by schools/departments, topics, or language expertise. A search capability is also available. Contact information is provided for each retrieved record.
UC Davis Experts Directory - Identifies UC Davis academics who have useful insights and knowledge, and who are willing to work with journalists whenever possible. Although quite broad in scope, the system includes an "Agriculture" category. Users may search by: Faculty last name; Subject; or Key word. Retrieved records provide: Name; Title; Department; Telephone numbers; E-mail; Web page; Areas of expertise; and Credentials.

Animal Science (L000)

AAVI Membership Directory (American Association of Veterinary Immunologists) - Alphbetical listing with addresses and contact information. The AAVI has approximately 275 members and is dedicated to the development, promotion, and dissemination of knowledge in immunology, primarily of domestic animals.
ACLAD Directory of Experts (American Committee on Laboratory Animal Diseases) - A preliminary list of individuals who have demonstrated expertise in various areas of laboratory animal disease diagnosis, research, and related subject areas. ACLAD intends this list to be used as a resource service for users in need of additional scientific and technical information for the general benefit of laboratory animal science and comparative medicine.
Active AAPA Members (American Association of Professional Apiculturists) - The directory includes an alphabetical name listing with information on areas of expertise, current position, and current projects.
Arachnology Database - Database of of email addresses for a subset of arachnologists who are members of the AAS.
ASIH Members, Officers, Editors, Committees and others (American Society of Ichthyologists and Herpetologists) - Searchable directory of the members of the American Society of Ichthyologists and Herpetologists (ASIH), which is dedicated to the scientific study of fishes, amphibians and reptiles. The primary emphases of the Society are to increase knowledge about these organisms, to disseminate that knowledge through publications, conferences, symposia, and other means, and to encourage and support young scientists who will make future advances in these fields. The programs of the American Society of Ichthyologists and Herpetologists are part of a global effort to interpret, understand, and conserve the Earth's natural diversity and to contribute to the wise use of natural resources for the long-term benefit of humankind.
Canadian Scientists Doing Research on Swine - Directory maintained by the Canadian Swine Research Network (CSRN). It can be searched alphabetically, by type of organization, field of expertise, and curriculum vitae. The directory includes contact information, field of expertise and education and experience (when available).
Coleopterists Society Membership List - Indexed alphabetical listing of members that includes taxonomic interests as an item of personal information.
Directory of Animal Breeders and Geneticists - Assists in finding the address information of specific people working in either animal breeding or animal genetics. It can also be used to find researchers working on particular topics or to find researchers in a particular country.
Directory of Arthropod Endocrinologists - Includes almost 3000 researchers and individuals interested in the field of arthropod endocrinology. Scroll down page to find the directory.
Directory of Black Entomologists in North America - The directory is designed to create a compendium of Black Entomologists. The names listed were generated from the responses to mailings requesting the cited information. The listed individuals are self-identified as Black Americans.
Directory of Canadian Ornithologists - Compiled by the Migratory Birds Conservation Division of the Canadian Wildlife Service of Environment Canada, with assistance from the Society of Canadian Ornithologists. The purpose of the directory is to foster collaboration among Canadian ornithologists.
Directory of Chinese Entomologists
Directory of Chironomid Workers - Includes 400+ chironomid workers. Chironomid midges, one of the main food sources of fish, are small, fragile "gnats" in the fly family Chironomidae ((Class-Insecta, Order-Diptera, Family-Chironomidae).
Directory of Entomologists with Pacific Interests - Compiled by the Entomology Subcommittee of the Pacific Science Association in cooperation with the Bishop Museum, includes names, addresses, and specialties for over 1100 entomologists with Pacific interests who have responded to various questionnaires throughout the years.
Directory of Hispanic American Entomologists - This Directory is designed to create a compendium of Hispanic American Entomologists. The individuals listed are self-identified as Hispanic Americans. It is hoped that the directory will be periodically updated.

Directory of World Chalcidologists - Provides contact information for chalcidologists worldwide.
Directory of World Wide Forensic Entomologists - Provides names, email-addresses, www home pages and other information about forensic entomologists all around the world. The directory is sorted on countries, states, last name, first name.
E-Mail Directory and Switchboard to Mayfly Researchers and Enthusiasts - The Mayfly research program is located in the Department of Entomology at Purdue University and is associated with the Laboratory of Aquatic Entomology. It is dedicated to the pursuit and dissemination of knowledge about mayflies, or the insect order Ephemeroptera. The program involves the taxonomy, ecology, behavior and life history of species in North America and Central America, and systematics of pannote mayflies, burrowing mayflies, small minnow mayflies, and flatheaded mayflies throughout the world.

International Directory of Odonatologists - World-wide list with regular postal mailing addresses.
- The list is searchable by name, country and interests using exact, partial content or similarities. It is a nonprofit organization with the broad objectives of promoting systematic, biogeographic, and biological studies of Heteroptera and to cultivate cooperative research among heteropterists throughout the world.
International List of Protistologists - The Society is an international organization with members in over 40 countries. Members include teachers, research scientists, undergraduate and graduate students.The aim of the Society is to be a forum for presentation and discussion of new or important facts and problems in protozoology and to foster the development and advancement of the science of protozoology.
List of Polish Entomologists - Directory maintained by the Polish Entomological Society. Includes separate sections for the following areas of interest: Lepidoptera, Coleoptera, Diptera, Hymenoptera, Heteroptera and Odonata.
List of State Veterinarians
Mammalogists on E-mail - Provides information on the current addresses, phone numbers, and e-mail addresses of mammalogists. Has both search and browse capability. It is provided courtesy of the Information Retrieval Committee of the American Society of Mammalogists, but it is not restricted to members of the society.
Membership Directory (Acarological Society of America) - The Acarological Society of America (ASA) is an international organization devoted to furthering all aspects of the knowledge of mites.
Neuropterists' Directory - Online directory of information about individuals and companies interested in neuropterid insects (orders Neuroptera, Megaloptera and Raphidioptera). The directory is intended as a shared communications resource for the benefit of the world's neuropterists.
On-line Directory of Acarologists - Includes list of acarologists of the world and online form. for acarologists to register.
Online Lepidopterists' Who's Who (OLWW) - This is a regularly updated list of contacts for Lep-people who are online. It is intended, FOR PRIVATE USE ONLY, to facilitate e-mail correspondence, to serve as a reference on people's specialties for LEPS-L and the sci.bio.entomology.lepidoptera (s.b.e.l.) usenet newsgroup, and for local contacts.
Orthopterists' Society Membership Directory - Directory (with search/browse capabilities) of the membership of the Orthopterists' Society (formerly the Pan American Acridological Society). The Society is an international scientific organization devoted to facilitating communication among those interested in Orthoptera and related oganisms and to fostering research and publication in all aspects of the biology of these insects from ecology and taxonomy to physiology, endrocrinology, cytogenetics, and control measures.

PSA Directory Search (Poultry Science Association) - Directory of members of a professional organization consisting of approximately 3500 educators, scientists, extension specialists, administrators and producers who are committed to advancing the poultry industry.
Registered Beekeepers (Iowa, Dept. of Agriculture) - List of Iowa Registered Beekeepers maintained by the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship (IDALS)
Scarab Workers: World Directory - facilitates communication between scarab researchers, identifies scarab-related resources, and assists in providing information about scarabaeoid beetles. Entries are arranged alphabetically by name, by taxon of interest, and geographically. A researcher picture and contact information are provided.
Search for ISH Members (International Society of Hymenopterists) - Provides a search service to find the current address, email, and phone and FAX numbers of current members of the Society. Maintained by the Department of Entomology, Texas A&M University.
State Apiarist Directory - State Apiarists are in contact with Federal and University research personnel and the National Honey Board to keep abreast of the latest research findings and new methods in apiculture. Most state apiarists are also very active in the leadership of the state beekeeping organizations. In that role they help in communication between beekeepers and promotion of honey and the beekeeping industry.
State Extension Sheep Specialists - By-state directory maintained by the American Sheep Industry Association. State Apiarists are in contact with Federal and University research personnel
World Directory of Primatologists - Provides a convenient Internet source of contact information for people in the field of primatology. Cephalopod Directory - Directory of more than 300 Cephalopod (octopus, squid, cuttlefish and nautilus) researchers.
Comprehensive Compendium of Plankton Researcher Homepages
Directory of Marine and Coastal Scientific Experts - A joint initiative of the Australian Marine Sciences Association (AMSA) and Environment Australia. Its purpose is to provide access to lists of Marine and Coastal Scientific experts for consulting or other commercial and non-commercial purposes. It is intended to provide government departments, industry and interest groups with access to expert information.
Directory of State Aquaculture Coordinators and Contacts - By-state listing of State Coordinators and Contacts responsible for coordinating aquaculture programs at the State or territorial level. Compiled by the National Agricultural Library and the Maryland Department of Agriculture.
Global Directory of Marine (and Freshwater) Professionals - Searchable directory of the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC) of UNESCO. Contains more than 4,000 entries.
Members of the EAFE (European Association of Fisheries Economists) - Searchable directory of the EAFE, an independent association of economists working in fisheries, including the catching, aquaculture and on-shore sectors, in the member states of the European Economic Area (EEA). Membership is open to any economist working in fisheries in academia, the industry, or the public sector, from or working in a member state of the EEA.
NABS Membership Directory (North American Benthological Society) - NABS is an international scientific organization whose purpose is to promote better understanding of the biotic communities of lake and stream bottoms and their role in aquatic ecosystems, by providing media and disseminating new investigation results, new interpretations, and other benthological information to aquatic biologists and to the scientific community at large. The directory can be searched by name, city, institution or country.
National Association of State Aquaculture Coordinators - Directory of members maintained at Purdue University by the Illinois-Indiana Sea Grant College Program.
Neotropical Ichthyological Association Membership Directory - Provides a full-text search capability as well as an alphabetical listing of members with contact information.
Sea Grant Coastal Science Experts - This guide is designed to introduce the news media to some of the most knowledgeable members of the marine and environmental science community in the United States. It provides access to a diverse array of experts affiliated with the nation's 29 Sea Grant programs - a network aimed at fostering the wise use, conservation, and development of U.S. ocean, coastal, and Great Lakes resources through rigorously peer-reviewed research, education and training of future environmental scientists, and timely public service and extension activities. Based in 28 coastal states and Puerto Rico, the national Sea Grant network encompasses more than 300 universities and institutions.

AACC Member Directory (American Association of Cereal Chemists) - The American Association of Cereal chemists is an international organization of cereal science and other professionals studying the chemistry of cereal grains and their products or working in related fields.
Current Membership (Food Distribution Research Society) - Alphabetical listing of members. The FDRS serves as a forum for professionals from universities, government and business to study and discuss issues relating to the food industry worldwide.
Food Science Administrators Database - Entries are searchable and can be viewed by browing a list or table. It includes a file download capability. Maintained by the Food Science and Technology Department of the Cornell University, New York State Ag Experiment Station at Geneva, NY.
Food Safety Experts Directory - Covering the state of California, contains names of 110 university and county-based faculty working with food safety issues. Experts may be accessed either by an alphabetical last name index or by category of expertise.
Who's Who in Food Engineering - This directory from the University of California, Davis is intended to provide information about food engineers and their current professional activities. The objective is to develop a world-wide directory of food engineers.
Who is Who in Post-harvest - FAO provides a lists of all entries in alphabetical order and all expert with Web addresses. Also permits search for an expert by country, working language and commodity, and by institution, working language and commodity. Users may add and update their own data.

Forestry (K000)

Canadian Forestry Researchers Directory - An information tool that provides the forestry community with the capability to locate and contact experts working in forestry research. Searches can be carried out by discipline, location, activities as well as scientific name searches on species. The directory is open to all Canadian forestry researchers including graduate students. Individuals will be responsible for signing onto the directory through an input form.
Certified Arborist Directory - A list of professionals with a thorough knowledge of tree care practice, demonstrated by completion of a professionally developed exam and education program.
Certified Forester® Directory - Searcable directory established by the Society of American Foresters (SAF) as a service to the forestry profession as well as to the public as a source for professional advice and for identification of foresters for a variety of land management activities. SAF does not express an opinion on the competence of or warrant the job performance of CFs. Rather, certification constitutes recognition by SAF that, to its best knowledge, a CF meets and adheres to certain minimum academic preparation, professional experience, continuing education, and professional standards. Requirements for eligibility and continued certification are included at the SAF WWW site.
Forest Genetics Colleague Directory - The IUFRO World Directory of Forest Geneticists and Tree Breeders. There are currently (4/97) about 3000 entries in the directory. A complete list of "key words" by which the user may search is provided. Additions and modfications may be made via E-mail.

Directory of Members (American Society for Nutritional Sciences) - The American Society for Nutritional Sciences (ASNS), with more than 3,500 members, is dedicated to improving the quality of life through the science of nutrition. ASNS members are included in the Nutrition and Food Professionals Network Directory <http://nutrition.cos.com/>
Nutrition and Food Professionals Network Directory - Online directory of food and nutrition professionals created by leading food and nutrition membership associations and the Community of Science. The direcotry can be searched-by or browsed alphabetically-by name and has a "Search by Expertise" feature to locate a member with specific expertise and qualifications.
Society for International Nutrition Research Membership List - Areas of research of particular importance to SINR members include undernutrition and deficiency diseases, relationships between infection and nutrition, and the effects of economic development policy on nutritional status. These research efforts may include nutritional biochemistry, physiology, clinical nutrition, nutritional epidemiology, nutritional anthropology or other social and behavioral sciences, economics, and public health.

Meteorology and Climatology (B200)

Directory of Certified Consulting Meteorologists - The American Meteorological Society (AMS) has accredited certification status to the Certified Consulting Meteorologists (CCM) listed in this directory. This certification does not extend to any areas of specialization separately listed in this directory that have been provided by the individuals. The main listing is sorted by state, so that those requiring the services of a CCM in a local area can quickly locate individuals with the proper specialization. In addition, a second listing is provided, which lists all CCMs who specialize in each area, along with their state for ease of cross-referencing. There are currently over 550 active CCMs in the AMS. Through voluntary submissions, over 200 chose to be listed in this directory.

Register of Chartered Meteorologists of the Royal Meteorological Society - Provides background information on Chartered Meteorologists so far accredited who have chosen to be included. The requirement for accreditation is seen in areas of work where meteorologists, and those working in closely related sciences such as hydrology and physical oceanography, are providing services, usually for those who are not specialists in these subjects.

Natural Resources (P000)

AERC Search Page (Association of Ecosystem Research Centers) - Searchable directory of individual members and institutions of the AERC. Although AERC is an association of professional scientists rather than environmental activists, its goals and interests complement those of conservation organizations. Both groups stress the environmental and societal need for wise management of natural resources.
Arizona Water Expertise Directory - a searchable database of individuals with water-related expertise at three Arizona state universities.
BRD Expertise Page - The keyword search function lets you enter keywords about the area of expertise in which you are interested. It will return to you a listing of all Biological Resource Division centers and points of contact with expertise in the area you specified.
Directory of Expertise (Centers for Wetland and Wildlands Resources, University of California) - A searchable, database of specialists, their affiliations, and areas of expertise. It lists scientists conducting research aimed at solving a broad array of scientific and practical problems concerned with managing and conserving water and wildland resources, as well as those experts actually managing these resources. It has more than 2,000 listings of faculty and staff from the University of California and California State University systems, and experts from state and federal agencies all of whom are involved with water-related/wildland-related research and resource management in California.
Directory of North Carolina University Scientists with Expertise in Water-Related Areas - Provided by the Water Resources Research Institute, North Carolina State University, an indexed alphabetical listing of scientists which includes contact information, disciplines, areas of expertise, and research areas of interest.
EEGS Directory (Environmental and Engineering Geophysical Society) - Directory of members of the EEGS, a professional non-profit society to promote the science of geophysics especially as it is applied to environmental and engineering problems
IASCP Members Search (International Association for the Study of Common Property) - Searchable members directory that includes name, country, e-mail address, and resource and geographical interests. The IASP is devoted to understanding and improving institutions for the management of environmental resources that are (or could be) held or used collectively by communities in developing or developed countries. IASP has more than 2,000 individual and institutional members that include political scientists, anthropologists, economists, historians, and natural resource managers.
ILTERnet Directory Search (International Long-Term Ecological Research) - Directory of researchers from 17 countries that are part of the International Long-Term Ecological Research (LTER) Network. The network was established to promote and enhance the understanding of long-term ecological phenomena across national and regional boundaries and facilitate interaction among participating scientists across disciplines and sites.
International Society of Chemical Ecology Membership Directory - Alphabetical listing of the members of the ISCE who expressed an interest in appearing in the WWW directory. The ISCE was organized to promote the understanding of interactions between organisms and their environment that are mediated by naturally occurring chemicals. Research areas include the chemistry, biochemistry and function of natural products, their importance at all levels of ecological organization, their evolutionary origin and their practical application.
List Experts (IEA Bioenergy) - A list of international experts / research groups / projects dealing with greenhouse gas balances in bioenergy systems. A form is provided for suggesting new listings.
List of GNEE Members (Global Network of Environmental Economists) - Alphabetically indexed directory of members of the Global Network of Environmental Economists. The GNEE aims at helping researchers, policymakers, academics, environmentalists from all countries in the world to exchange their view and information in order to increase and share knowledge, to promote co-operation, to improve quality and effectiveness of research in environmental economics.
Member Finder (Irrigation Association) - Searchable membership database with menu assisted search options. The IA is a trade organization with members who include professional researchers, technicians, manufacturers, distributors, dealers, irrigation system designers and consultants.
Membership Directory (Environmental Professionals Organization) - Corporate and Individual membership list.
Regional Biomass Energy Program: Contacts - a list of regional and state RBEP representatives, including names, addresses, phone and fax numbers.
Regional Environmental Expert Database REED - Search through over 1,000 profiles of Central and Eastern European environmental experts.
Registry of Wetland Professionals (Society of State Wetland Managers) - A by-state alphabetical listing of more than 2,000 points of contact that are useful sources of wetland expertise and information. It is intended for use by landowners, wetland agency staff at all levels of government, scientists, academics, planners, developers, nonprofits, and others interested in managing and restoring wetland and related land and water resources.
Southwest Riparian Expertise Directory - a searchable database of individuals with water-related expertise in the Southwest (AZ, CO, NV, NM, and UT).
SAPPCREE Members (Southern Appalachian Committee for Resource and Environmental Economics) - The SAPPCREE was established to facilitate communication and scientific research by serving as a source of information for those interested in resource and environmental economics issues in the Southern Appalachian region.
State Climatologists - Directory maintained by the American Association of State Climatologists AASC), a professional scientific organization composed of state climatologists (one per state), directors of the six Regional Climate Centers and associate members who are persons interested in the goals and activities of the Association. State Climatologists are individuals who have been identified by a state entity as the state's climatologist and who are also recognized by the Director of the National Climatic Data Center of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration as the state climatologist of a particular state.
Water Expert Directory - a listing of water professionals and their areas of expertise (e.g. acid-rain, drought, hydrology, pollutants, water harvesting, etc.)
Water Experts Directory (Texas Water Resources Institute) - Searchable database of researchers at Texas universities with water related expertise in an effort to aid people in locating individuals working on particular items of interest in water fields. It includes representatives from all major geographic regions of the State and of a wide range of academic disciplines.
Water Quality Experts by State - locate water quality experts by state. Listing includes name, phone number, email address, area of specialty.
Who's Who in Risk Assessment of Biocontrol Agents - Worldwide researcher profiles working on biological control in general, and specifically on risk assessment of biocontrol agents.
