You can use this form to textword search the metadata records in AgDB. For example, if you wanted to retrieve all metadata records that refer to pesticides and are accessible through the World Wide Web, you might enter the search string:
pesticide* and wwwIt's also possible to search by Agricola Subject Category Code. To find all AgDB metadata records that have been assigned to the E100 (Agricultural Economics) category, simply search:
E100
You can use 'and', 'or', 'not' between your keywords; 'and' applies by default when multiple words are entered without an operator. The truncation (stemming) character is an asterisk (*).
Important: When formulating your search strategy, remember that what you are searching is metadata; that is, a high-level description of the dataset or infomation system. You are not searching the system itself. Therefore, highly specific and narrow queries are more likely to fail. For that reason, it is often best to make your queries relatively general and broad.
